* Annualized DPS forecast for 2025E based on quarterly dividend per share of $0.24.
* Consolidated MFI, prior to the Canada Packers spin-off. MFI and CPKR each intend to declare a dividend for the fourth quarter of 2025. It is currently anticipated that the combined aggregate initial quarterly dividends immediately following the completion of the spin-off will not be less than the amount of MFI’s aggregate quarterly dividend immediately prior to the completion of the spin-off. All dividends are subject to the discretion and approval of each company’s respective Board of Directors.
Dividend payments
The declaration and payment of quarterly dividends is made at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Dividends are normally paid on Maple Leaf Foods common stock at the end of every fiscal quarter to everyone who holds shares at the record date. Payments are made on March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31. If these days fall on a weekend or holiday, payments are made the first preceding business day.
Dividend Reinvestment Plan
Maple Leaf Foods has implemented a dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP), providing eligible shareholders with the opportunity to have all or a portion of their quarterly cash dividends on the common shares automatically reinvested into additional common shares.
The Company’s DRIP permits eligible shareholders to direct their cash dividends to be reinvested in additional common shares of the Company. The Company eliminated the 2% discount on the treasury shares issued under the DRIP beginning in 2025. Therefore, for shareholders who wish to reinvest their dividends under the DRIP, Maple Leaf Foods intends to issue common shares from treasury at a price equal to 100% of the weighted average closing price of the shares for the five trading days preceding the dividend payment date.
