Toronto. September 4, 2008 – Maple Leaf Foods has issued the following statement in response to calls for an investigation into Canada’s food safety standards:
Canada has a strong track record and rating around the world in food safety. A recent study from the University of Regina ranks the Canadian food safety systems fifth out of 17 OECD countries, as one of the most thorough and effective systems in the world.
