Shur-Gain Introduces Certification Program for Ontario Franchised Outlets

ST. MARYS, ON, – Shur-Gain has recently launched a new marketing initiative for their franchised outlets across Ontario. The new program, part of Shur-Gain’s ongoing commitment to excellence in dairy nutrition management, will recognize qualified outlets as being a "Certified Dairy Centre" (seal above right). The certification identifies for dairy producers which outlets offer an elevated level of dairy management and nutritional consulting.

"Today’s dairy industry is rapidly evolving," said Alain Lajeunesse, Ruminant Business Manager for Shur-Gain. "Producers are progressive and have increased their service and performance expectations. We want to provide them with good advice and practical solutions so they can be more profitable."

To become certified, Shur-Gain outlets must meet several performance criteria including staffing a Dairy Nutrition Advisor who has completed a comprehensive training and development program. The objective of certification is to provide dairy producers with consistently trained and skilled Dairy Advisors.

Shur-Gain is a division of Maple Leaf Foods Inc., one of Canada’s largest food processing companies with operations across Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. The company’s products include fresh and prepared meats, poultry, fresh and frozen bakery products, seafood and animal feeds. Its products are sold to retail, food service, wholesale, agricultural and industrial customers.
