Shur-Gain Commissions new State-Of-The-Art Feed Mill

–  Shur-Gain today announced it has commissioned a US$3.8 million state-of-the-art feed mill in
Strykersville, New York, to service the growing needs of dairy farmers in the
Northeast region. 

The new mill has a capacity in excess of 150,000 tons and
is fully computerized and automated providing highly efficient, processing of
many local ingredients.  The total operation, including related sales and
distribution, employs approximately 45 people.

“The dairy producers in Western New York look to us for
customized feeding solutions,” said Jerry Vergeer, President, Shur-Gain. “This
facility includes technology that provides new services geared towards the
changing needs of our customers and reflects Shur-Gain’s long term commitment
to serving the growing needs of dairy producers in the region.”

The new mill can process in excess of 40 bulk ingredients,
including hard to handle items such as whole fuzzy cottonseed and ground hay
providing greater flexibility and more economical feed solutions for local
producers.  The investment in the new facility also included upgrades to
Shur-Gain’s on-farm delivery fleet that now offers more efficient delivery
