Meat Tampering-Arrest

On March 18th, 2009 Guelph Police Criminal Investigators entered into an investigation when it was reported that several Schneider’s Meat products had been tampered with. The items in question were all found at the No Frills Store located at 191 Silvercreek Parkway Guelph. Specifically sewing needles of various lengths had been inserted into various meat products. As a result, Schneider’s products were removed from the store shelves and the public was alerted by the Guelph Police, Loblaw and Schneider’s officials. Aside from the original complaint none of the items tampered with were sold to the public. In all 12 packaged products containing 13 needles had been tampered with. No one was physically injured as result.

On March 26th 2009, Guelph Police Criminal Investigators arrested a 41 year old adult female from Guelph for this crime. She has been charged with one count of Common Nuisance under the Criminal Code.

Mastoora QEZIL, a 41 year old female of Guelph was charged with Common Nuisance and will appear in Bail Court tomorrow.
