MD&A Refile Notice


TORONTO, Oct 06, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ — Maple Leaf Foods Inc. (TSX:MFI)
announced today that, at the request of the Ontario Securities Commission, it
has re-filed its Management’s Discussion and Analysis (“MD&A”) for the year
ended December 31, 2005, to add the CEO’s and CFO’s conclusions concerning the
effectiveness of the Company’s disclosure controls and procedures. The
amendment indicates that an evaluation of the effectiveness of the design and
operation of the Company’s disclosure controls and procedures was conducted as
of December 31, 2005 by and under the supervision of management, including the
CEO and CFO. It further states that, based on this evaluation, the CEO and CFO
concluded that as of December 31, 2005 the disclosure controls and procedures
were effective at providing such reasonable assurance.

No other changes were made to the MD&A. The re-filed MD&A may be accessed
