Maple Leaf Promises Open Communication On Environment; Company commits to prompt disclosure of all incidents and regular meetings with company representatives and residents




BRANDON, MANITOBA--Maple Leaf Pork has announced its commitment to open
communication on environmental issues at its Brandon plant. The company
promises prompt disclosure of any environmental incident at the plant,
regardless how small, and to provide regular opportunities for residents to
meet with Plant Manager Dave Wood or other company officials to ask questions
and receive updates.




"We are committed to good corporate citizenship. We know people are interested
in what goes on at the plant and to put their minds at ease, we are committed
to being open and accessible," said Dave Wood, Plant Manager.




The company plans to hold the meetings monthly beginning in November. The
specific time, date and location will be announced shortly.
