Four Shur-Gain and Landmark Facilities become HACCP Certified

Certification demonstrates commitment to
quality assurance and food safety

Shur-Gain and Landmark Feeds announced
today that four of their Canadian facilities have recently received Hazard
Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification.

The recently certified facilities are:

  • Shur-Gain St. Mary’s, Ont., swine and
    poultry complete feed mill
  • Shur-Gain Summerside, PEI, a multi-species
    animal feed mill
  • Landmark Feeds Strathmore, Alb., swine and
    poultry complete feed mill

involves a series of control procedures at various points of the feed
manufacturing process. HACCP certification for feed manufacturers is part of a
broader initiative being undertaken by the Canadian livestock and poultry

and Landmark, and an important accomplishment for the Canadian feed industry,”
says J. Scott McCain, President and Chief Operating Officer, Maple Leaf Foods

that our long-established practices meet the world’s highest standards in
quality assurance and food safety.”
