Michael E. Detlefsen
President, Pork Complex
Michael Detlefsen is President, Pork Complex at Maple Leaf Foods. In his role, M. Detlefsen is focused on advancing our strategic blueprint with a specific emphasis on leading the execution of Maple Leaf Foods’ integrated sustainable fresh pork strategy globally.
Previously at Maple Leaf from 1999 to 2007, M. Detlefsen was Vice President of Corporate Development, Executive Vice President of Vertical Coordination, and President of Maple Leaf’s Global Foods Division.
Since 2007, M. Detlefsen filled a variety of key roles outside of Maple Leaf Foods, including serving as Managing Director of Muir Detlefsen & Associates, Chief Restructuring Officer, Organic Meadow Inc., President & CEO, Ceres Global Ag Corp., and most recently, as Managing Director of Pomegranate Capital Advisors. He has also served as a member of the boards of directors of numerous public and private companies in the food, agri-business, financial services, telecom and personal care sectors.
M. Detlefsen holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University, a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
