Peter Baker is Managing Director of the Maple Leaf Bakery, UK and a member of the Maple Leaf Foods Executive Council.

Appointed to this role in 2009, Mr. Baker is responsible for the continued growth of the business as one of the leading speciality bakery companies in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Baker has more than 30 years experience in the bakery and consumer packaged goods industry in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Maple Leaf Mr. Baker served as Chief Executive of La Fornaia, which was acquired by Maple Leaf Foods in late 2007, a position he held from 2003 to 2007. Under his leadership, sales and profits of La Fornaia increased significantly, driven by the introduction of innovative new products to retail customers.

Previously Mr. Baker was Chief Operating Officer, RHM Consumer Brands and Managing and Divisional Director of British Bakeries Ltd. He was also Divisional MD of RHM Cereals and Managing Director of Rank Hovis.

Mr. Baker recently served as Vice President CIAA (European Food and Drink Federation).

Mr. Baker has a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Sussex, a Certificate of Company Direction (IOD) Distinction, from the Institute of Directors program and has completed the Senior Management Program, Harvard Business School.
